Pamięć o ofiarach. Wrześniowe obchody wybuchu II wojny światowej w Treblince.
W dniu 5 września 2009 r. odbyły się po raz kolejny uroczystości patriotyczno - religijne na terenie dawnego karnego obozu pracy. W tym roku na uroczystości zgromadziło się około 350 uczestników wśród nich był więzień Zygmunt Chłopek. Dużą grupę stanowili uczniowie szkół, harcerze, kombatanci i oczywiście nie zabrakło rodzin byłych więźniów. Wartę honorową przed pomnikiem pełnili żołnierze z Jednostki Wojskowej w Komorowie. Obecni byli także przedstawiciele Urzędu Województwa Mazowieckiego oraz władz samorządowych. Jak co roku, w rocznicę wybuchu II wojny światowej, po półkilometrowym odcinku od żwirowni do miejsca straceń obozu w Treblince przeszła droga krzyżowa. Przed pomnikiem stojącym w miejscu straceń została odprawiona msza święta przez ksiądza prałata Czesława Mazurka. Wygosił on również okolicznosciowe kazanie. Historię obozu przybliżył Edward Kopówka - kierownik muzeum, gdyż Zygmunt Chłopek - były więzień, ze wzruszenia nie mógł tego uczynić. W przesłnym liście sentor RP Waldemar Kraska przekazał m.in. słowa: "Musimy pamiętać i modlić się aby nigdy nie powtórzył się koszmar wojny i koszmar obozów zagłady..." [całość listu w Galerii]
Na zakończenie uroczystości zostały złożone kwiaty przed pominkiem, a kombatanci oddali hołd pomordowanym poprzez salwę honorową.
On Saturday, 6 September 2008 religious-patriotic celebrations including Stations of the Cross and Holy Mass took place on the area of the former Nazi Penal Labour Camp in Treblinka. Such celebrations have been held regularly to celebrate subsequent anniversaries of the breakout of the Second World War since Edward Kopowka was appointed the Head of the Museum in Treblinka. Last year almost 350 people participated in the celebrations. Among them there were the former inmates from the camp in Treblinka - Zygmunt Chlopek and Stanislaw Komar as well as the Home Army’s (AK) veterans from the town of Kosow Lacki and the representatives of local and parliamentary authorities. Scouts and pupils from nearby schools were also present.
On 2 September 2006. in Treblinka the Way of the Cross was organized. Two Treblinka survivors Barbara Bednarska and Zygmunt Chłopek walked the way from the Gravel Pit to the Execution Square at Treblinka I. Patriotic – religious celebrations have been held regularly to commemorate anniversaries of the breakout of the Second World War since Edward Kopówka became the Head of the Museum in Treblinka in 1996. Every first Saturday in September the camp survivors and their relatives as well as those wishing to commemorate the victims who lost their lives in Treblinka, gather near the Gravel Pit in Treblinka. Last year the Way of the Cross, at the head of which were scouts with a cross, walked the route from the Gravel Pit to the Extermination Site at Treblinka I.
